Andrew Houriet, the president of August Development Corporation, founded the company in 1994. Since then, ADC has built a reputation for creating robust software applications and technology suites tailored to the needs of its customers and delivering them in an affordable and timely manner. The ADC team consists of a core group of software developers and project managers in addition to several project partners with expertise in a wide range of technologies. This structure allows ADC to provide service over the full life cycle of a project, and to deliver products to meet almost any business need. ADC maintains minimal overhead costs by employing a small, nimble and well-trained workforce that can work from anywhere and by leveraging the latest technologies, such as cloud-based services, to keep infrastructure and maintenance costs to a minimum. ADC can produce superior software packages and solve technical business problems quickly and affordably, making it an attractive alternative to large and expensive consulting firms or under-resourced and restrictive in-house development options.
August Development's long list of clients include for-profit organizations of every size and across a broad spectrum of industries, as well as many non-profit organizations and foundations that support the arts and humanities, cultural heritage and public health. ADC has many years of experience helping foundations and grant-makers transition from legacy grant management software to custom web applications that allow users to write and manage grants from any location. We are sensitive to the special business needs of non-profits and the challenges that they face, and are well suited to providing consultation and technical services to these organizations.
Our Team
Andrew Houriet
President
Andrew Houriet has worked in the software development industry for over 30 years. After graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Penn State University (and having happily avoided punch-card programming), Andrew discovered the joys of software development and began a career working in many technologies, from embedded firmware to web and cloud applications. After 10 years working as a software designer and developer in a variety of industries, Andrew founded August Development Corporation and has been providing software application and product development services since.
Tom Javian
Senior Software Developer and Project Manager
Tom Javian embarked on his technology career the day after graduating college in 1996, working for a tech startup that provided customized software and equipment to help people with brain injuries manage their lives independently. He worked closely with Andrew Houriet, the lead architect of the software, and eventually went to work for Andy at August Development in 1997 as a junior software developer. Since then, Tom has assumed lead roles within the company as a software application designer and developer and as a project manager.
Mike Walsh
Senior Software Developer and Business Technology Architect
Mike Walsh began his software career at August Development in 1999. He did not remain a junior developer for long; within the first two years of the job, Mike amassed a tremendous amount of technical expertise and experience and soon became the company's lead developer, playing key roles as a software architect and a business technology consultant. Mike has also been instrumental in creating the company's internal code generation and management software and heading up initiatives to evaluate and integrate new technologies.
Chris DeBenedetto
Senior Software Developer
Chris DeBenedetto started as an intern at August Development after his high school graduation in 2008, and became a full-time junior developer a year after that. He completed a degree program in Computer Science in 2012 while working full time at ADC. Since then, Chris has taken on the responsibilities of project leadership and senior software development and solidified his position as a core member of the ADC development team.
